Connectors join one shaft to another, or fix a rod end to a lever, and they are almost always made to drawing. Because the part sits between two finished components, the bore, spigot and thread dimensions have to match the mating parts exactly.
Connectors are turned from bar stock, with milling added when a flat or slot is needed. Threads are rolled or cut to gauge, and every batch sample is checked with go / no-go gauges. After deburring and cleaning, stainless parts are passivated and aluminum parts anodized.
| Inspection item | Method and instrument |
|---|---|
| Bore and spigot fit | Pin gauge and micrometer |
| Thread fit | Go / no-go thread gauge |
| Appearance | Visual check under 800 lux |
A first article inspection report with dimensional results, material certificate and heat treatment record is provided for sample orders. Batch orders are sampled at 10 percent, with full inspection available on request.
