Engineer reviewing technical drawing for custom precision machined parts
Custom process

From drawing to delivered parts

A fixed eight-step process keeps quotation, sampling and batch production predictable. Each step has a defined output and a normal time window.

Process steps

Eight steps, each with a defined output

Durations are counted in working days from the moment the previous step is confirmed.

  1. 1

    Drawing or sample received

Send drawings in STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF or PDF, or ship a physical sample for reverse measurement.

    Same day
  2. 2

    Process review and feasibility feedback

Engineers check tolerance, material, heat treatment and machining route, then point out any unworkable feature.

    1 - 2 days
  3. 3

    Quotation confirmed

Quote includes material, machining, heat treatment, surface treatment, inspection and packing cost.

    1 - 3 days
  4. 4

    Sample and first article inspection

First pieces are machined, measured and reported. Production starts after the sample is approved.

    4 - 10 days
  5. 5

    Batch machining

Turning, milling, grinding, gear cutting and heat treatment are scheduled across the shop.

    8 - 25 days
  6. 6

    Full or sampled inspection

Batch orders are sampled at 10 percent, with full inspection available on request.

    1 - 2 days
  7. 7

    Packing and delivery

Parts are oiled, wrapped in anti-rust paper and packed in cartons or wooden cases.

    1 - 2 days
  8. 8

    After-sales follow-up

Assembly feedback is collected, and dimensional adjustments are made on the next batch if needed.

What to include in your drawing

Complete information shortens the quotation cycle and avoids rework after sampling.

  • Accepted file formatsSTEP, IGES, DWG, DXF, SLDPRT and PDF. 3D models are preferred for parts with curved surfaces.
  • Required dimensions and tolerancesMark all mating dimensions with tolerance, plus surface roughness, flatness, runout and position where relevant.
  • Material and heat treatmentState the material grade, hardness requirement and heat treatment type. If unsure, our engineers can suggest options.
  • Surface treatmentSpecify plating type, coating thickness, anodizing color or passivation requirement.
  • Quantity and target priceGive the sample quantity and expected batch quantity. A target price helps us select a workable process route.
  • ConfidentialityCustomer drawings are used only for quotation and production, and are not shared with any third party. An NDA can be signed before files are sent.

FAQ

Frequent technical questions

Answers to the questions purchasing and engineering teams ask before the first order.

Ready to start with a sample?

Send the drawing with material, tolerance and quantity. Samples are machined in 4 to 10 working days after the quotation is confirmed.
